Lead Pastor – Dr. Alan Thompson
Pastor Alan is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene having served as a Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Campus Minister in local churches in Tennessee, Indiana, North Carolina, Kansas, and Missouri. Pastor Alan has also served as an itinerant evangelist and an adjunct professor in religion.
Pastor Alan’s undergraduate degree is in history from Trevecca Nazarene University. He has a M.A. in Religion (Doctrinal Theology) from Olivet Nazarene University, a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree (Outreach and Discipleship) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
He is married to Martha and they have a son, Blake, and two grandchildren. He is vitally interested in developing authentic disciples of Christ and in Christians living out the love of Christ in the world.
Youth Pastor – Rev. Stephen Kihnley
Pastor Stephen is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. He has served as a part time staff Youth Pastor at Farmdale in Louisville, Kentucky. He also served as the NYI President at Nashville Grace until he was called to full-time ministry as the Youth Pastor at Gallatin First Church of the Nazarene in November 2011.
Pastor Stephen graduated from the University of Louisville in 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Arts with concentrations in Philosophy & Religious Studies. He received further education through the modular course of study by the Church of the Nazarene as well as Northwestern Nazarene University.
He and his wife Bethany are proud parents of their son Caide. They enjoy traveling to visit family who live in different states. Pastor Stephen is a passionate Louisville Cardinals fan, loves sports, outdoors and traveling. Most importantly, Pastor Stephen wants to see teenagers become disciples of Christ, building a relationship with Christ that will last a lifetime.
Children’s Pastor – Rev. Lance Conn
Pastor Lance is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. He has served in children’s ministry and as associate pastor in churches in Tennessee and Alabama.
Pastor Lance graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a BA in Religion with a focus on children’s ministry. He then finished his master’s at Trevecca in Religion with a focus on biblical studies.
Pastor Lance is married to Debra and they have two daughters. Debra is a teacher of the deaf for Metro Nashville Public Schools. Pastor Lance wants to help kids know Jesus as Lord and help develop faithful families.
Worship Pastor – Rev. Shelly Head
Pastor Shelly is an ordained deacon in the Church of the Nazarene. She has served in worship leadership in Ohio and now Tennessee.
Pastor Shelly graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a degree in church music. Shelly has a passion and calling to write worship music for the church and continues to pursue that passion.
Pastor Shelly is married to Dan; they have three adult sons and two grandchildren. Shelly desires to see the body of Christ come together in corporate worship to connect with God in authenticity and passion for a deeper relationship with him.
Office Manager – Brenda Jackson
Brenda has worked at Gallatin First Church of the Nazarene since the end of 2004. She answers the phone, greets visitors during the week, and keeps the office running.
