Jail Ministry

Currently, groups who visit the Sumner County Jail on the second Wednesday and third Thursday night of every month at 7:30. We usually divide into ministry teams to share from the word, others share their testimony with the inmates, and still others share one on one with the inmates.

Typically, each ministry team will go to a pod with approximately 50 inmates. Sometimes nearly all the inmates in a pod participate in the service and sometimes only a few.

The monthly jail visits always turn out to be a wonderful blessing. There is often real spiritual hunger among the inmates and they are very appreciative of visits. It is a great opportunity for you to be on the front lines of ministry.

Anyone who wants to be part of the ministry teams must complete a 4-hour training event before they are able to attend. There is a need for many spiritual gifts in this ministry: teaching/preaching/sharing from the Word, singing, testimonies, one-on-one counseling, and prayer.

We have been blessed to see and be a part of genuine spiritual transformation in the lives of the inmates, there is simply nothing to compare to being used of God in the lives of one of these inmates!
